Care for Children

The Client

Care for Children is a charity working throughout Asia with a vision of moving one million children from institutions into local, loving families.

The Objective

To design and create marketing materials that effectively convey the charity’s message and core values.

The Result

We first designed Care for Children’s annual report in 2016. We designed two versions of the report – a 32-page copy for a fundraising event held at St James’s Palace, and a 36-page copy for potential donors, current supporters and funders, available both in print and via PDF download online. The report required us to work to brand guidelines provided by the charity, ensuring the new report complemented it’s precedents whilst offering a fresh visual experience. Filled with colourful, engaging illustrations, infographics and full-page imagery, the report thrilled staff and supporters alike.

Building on the success of the first report, the team at Care for Children asked us to design their 2017 report. We expanded the brand colour palette for this report, adding a range of brights to enrich the previously green-dominant colour scheme. We added more custom elements like a refreshed timeline and calendar graphic to display the year’s highlights. We once again made use of Care for Children’s photography, including large photos of the children and families they have helped to date.

We also designed a logo and leaflet to represent the charity’s ‘Window into China’ project, launched in Hong Kong with the aid of UK ambassador Bear Grylls.

Throughout these projects we worked closely with Care for Children to really understand the charity and their goals and accomplishments. Being a full-service marketing agency, our involvement in the project extends from concept to completion – ensuring the client is completely involved throughout the process.

As a charity, it’s incredibly important that our annual report is eye-catching, engaging, visual and informative as it is often one of the first documents that potential funders see when we make initial contact. The team at Hype were full of creative ideas, constructive input and were very efficient and patient with any feedback and tweaks. The result is a beautiful report that is by far the best one yet.
