J&S Jewellery is an independent British jewellery brand and online retailer run by two talented sisters, Jenny and Sophie. Together they design, create and sell affordable yet beautiful costume jewellery as well as bespoke, handmade pieces perfect for gifts.
Since their humble beginnings packaging orders from Jenny’s box room, J&S Jewellery has taken the likes of Not On The High Street, Etsy and ASOS by storm. However, they were looking to make their own website the main sales outlet for their jewellery and move into trading wholesale, attracting high street retailers to the business. With this in mind, our team set out to strategically re-position the existing J&S Jewellery brand and better communicate the unique and highly commercial products J&S Jewellery offer.
We worked with Jenny and Sophie to devise a marketing strategy that included tasks that could be implemented both by us and the J&S Jewellery team. Initially, we worked on simplifying, refreshing and clarifying the existing brand to encourage new customers and retailers. This involved updating the brand colour palette and providing guidance for how their pre-existing monochrome logo and new blush colour scheme could be used digitally and offline.
Next, as part of an extensive digital refresh, we completely redesigned the J&S Jewellery e-commerce website, working with Joe from Norwich Digital, who took care of the clever coding side of things. Together, we made the J&S Jewellery website bolder and cleaner, making use of fantastic images taken by co-owner and professional photographer Sophie and focussing on presenting the jewellery in the best light possible.
In order to help J&S Jewellery attract wholesale orders, we recommended Jenny and Sophie attend London trade fair ‘Top Drawer’. Here, they would have the chance to showcase their jewellery to thousands of visitors and speak directly with their target market to gain feedback on their products and brand.
In preparation for this event, we designed and organised printing of some bespoke business cards in keeping with the updated J&S Jewellery brand. We also wrote some captivating copy for the sales brochure which Jenny and Sophie handed out to prospective retailers.
To the delight of the J&S Jewellery team and ourselves, the event was very successful, with several orders being placed for their jewellery there and then!
